"And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also, for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit." 1st Nephi 8:12. The joy that comes from seeing a converted soul enter into the waters of baptism really can hardly be explained by this scripture, but just try to imagine: rejoicing. Perhaps this glimpse might paint the image in your head a little more articulately:
Sister Ice's baptism (half the people in this photo are investigators). |
Conversion is the key. We've recently begun living off the theme: "teach repentance and baptize converts". Yesterday we baptized a 12 year old convert, and oh our joy was great! When we met with Sister Ice's grandma last week to ask permission for her to be baptized, Sister Ice had the opportunity to share her testimony: "I want to be baptized and after I am baptized I want to share the gospel and help others. "Even the smell of the fruit gave her a desire to share the gospel with her family, and now that she's tasted it's time for the work to continue.
Teach repentance, baptize converts.
The work continues...
Love,
Sister Smith
