Miracle, Answered Prayers

Yes, it does rain here

I'll be sending more pictures because I'm half regretting I've not sent more in the past. I just lost all my photos from the past year from a virus at the internet cafe.

 😵

I was late emailing today because a former investigator called us up and says he's at the church and asks for help. Turns out his 15 or so friends procrastinated their "find a farang and interview them project" so we saved the day and I helped them interview me in English.

Interview a farang (or ฝรั่ง, meaning white person)

Greatest member missionary success of my life--zone conference break-off session the STLs and ZLs (Sister Training Leaders and Zone Leaders) lead a missionary training. In preparation for this activity we called 7 members to act as investigators and 7 to help the missionaries role play. They all brought their friends/investigators to the activity so the turnout rate was like 30. (Give me a role play I give you a real play).

Ask members to come role-play as investigators, and
they invite their friends to real-play in our training session

Crazy miracle happened this morning! We have been praying this entire week to find a new investigator and have been answered with a test of being diligent and patient. Until this morning, when we received a call from someone who said he was very interested in learning more about God. He was waiting at the bus station about to go to Khonkaen for a few days, but wanted to learn more. We've never left the house so fast. At the bus station, we met a very humble guy named Star searching for more knowledge about God.

On top of that, another random guy walks up while we are teaching, sits down, hands us his ID card (his name is Tone), and asks to know more about the Book of Mormon we are talking about. So of course we start teaching him too.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to share the gospel and I know this church is true.

Rice picking, choose faith

We went rice picking!

Today I want to share I quote that I love from the prophet. It reads:
"May we choose to build up within ourselves a great and powerful faith which will be our most effective defense against the designs of the adversary-- a real faith, the kind of faith which will sustain us and will bolster our desire to choose the right. Without such faith, we go nowhere. With it, we can accomplish our goals." --Thomas S. Monson
Yesterday at church we learned about the story of Daniel from the bible, and I think he was a great example of this sort of faith. I encourage you to read his story it's pretty inspiring.

I love you. I know that this church is true and that faith is a real power if we learn how to use it. I know the Savior lives and loves us.

Have a wonderful week!

We cleaned our apartment.

Yes, it is clean.

That's our bishop and his wife!

Riding Elephants in Surin

This was my ride today

This week I'm emailing late and keeping it short because we went to Surin and rode elephants, something everyone has to do while they are in Thailand! It was the experience of a life time. I loved it so much and this picture doesn't do justice but I'll send it anyway.

Have a good week, love you!

Caroling in Roi-Et

Yesterday we had an awesome experience, I decided to try out something that Evan did with his companion--inviting with hymnbooks. We met up with a member at her house, and asked her a good place to start, and she and her brother took us to an investigators house where we sang to his whole family. After which, his mom replied, "Before I didn't know why my son wanted me to take him to church so much. But now I know."

Then they referred us to another family across the street to sing to, and her son came to sing with us. They were all Catholic, but after we were done singing, while explaining our purpose, she excitedly reported, hey we have a Book of Mormon in our house! She called her son (named Bible) to go grab it and he brings out the 1st edition of the Book of Mormon, which he received when he was an investigator years ago. Come to find out, he's still interested and their family invited us back.

There's a scripture that I love, which ties this all in. It's a scripture mastery, all the way back from D&C days with Brother Brown. It reads:
"For my soul delighteth in the song of the heart; yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me, and it shall be answered with a blessing upon their heads." D&C 25:12
I believe in the power of missionary work. I know this church is the true church of God and that the gospel is restored on earth. I am grateful that my brother and I can be a part of this work.

Have a great week!
